More Answers From Our Team
How often should I see the dentist?
Most people do well with a checkup and cleaning every six months, but it depends on your gum health, how quickly tartar builds up, whether you smoke and your history of cavities. We will recommend the schedule that is right for you.
Why do you need to know my medications?
Some medications cause dry mouth, gum changes or mouth sores, and some interact with medicines we may prescribe. Your information is kept confidential and helps us treat you safely.
When should my child first see the dentist?
By age one, or within six months of the first tooth. A child's first visit is often a free orientation: a ride in the chair, meeting the team and a trip to the toy box. See children's dentistry.
Why do my gums bleed when I brush?
Bleeding gums are usually an early sign of gingivitis, which responds well to a professional cleaning and better brushing and flossing. Book a visit rather than waiting.
What should I do if I chip or break a tooth?
Rinse gently with warm water, hold a cold compress on your cheek if there is swelling, keep any pieces, and call us right away. We will take an x-ray to see whether you need a filling, a crown or a root canal. See emergency dentistry.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes, when used as directed with a dentist's guidance. Some people have temporary sensitivity, which we can help manage; overusing whitening products is never recommended. See teeth whitening.
What if I do not understand my treatment plan?
Ask us anything: what it costs, how long it takes, whether you will need follow-up visits and what the alternatives are. The decision is always yours, and you are welcome to call after your visit with more questions.
Can I book online?
No. We do not offer online booking. Call 403-253-1248 during clinic hours to arrange an appointment, or use the contact form to request a callback. Our team arranges and confirms every appointment; submitting a message does not book, change or cancel one.
Is there parking, and is the clinic accessible?
Yes. Eight free reserved stalls are to the left of the main Heritage Square entrance; register your licence plate at the front desk. Take the South Elevators to the second floor; the clinic is wheelchair and walker accessible.
What payment options do you offer?
Direct insurance billing; Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit and cheque; Affirm financing on approved credit; and in-house payment plans arranged before treatment. We also offer a seniors discount.
