Finding amusing things to do with your kids can be an exhausting activity. However, this is different in Calgary because the city offers various activities and locations where your kids can enjoy a day full of fun and education. Calgary Zoo
Combine your animal excursion at the zoo with a visit to one of the park’s many playgrounds. At the zoo, you can explore the world of insects at the larger-than-life Brawn Family Foundation Bugtopia and ride the wildlife carousel and toddler playground in the Calgary Co-op Kids Zone. You can also play in the Kinsmen Zooventure Playground or dig for bones in the Prehistoric Park Dino Slide and Dino Dig. You can also enjoy the interactive experience at Land of Lemurs, which allows you to stroll through the habitat while the fascinating creatures play, groom, leap, eat, and take up the sun. Three kinds of lemurs live in this unusual habitat: the black-and-white ruffed, ring-tailed, and red-fronted lemurs. These are some of the world’s most endangered primates.
Creative Kids Museum
The Creative Kids Museum is situated at Telus Spark Science Centre in Calgary. The Creative Kids Museum offers 10,000 square feet of tremendous excitement for Spark’s smallest guests to play, build, and explore using all of their senses. Play in the water or create at one of the tactile activity tables. Get comfortable in a nook to read a book, play the beloved bubble piano, or scale new heights in the climbing adventure room.
The museum also features the coolest indoor playground you will ever see. The playground features a giant water play area, a climbing structure, and many other activities.
Calgary Public Library
The Calgary Library offers free library cards for kids and adults, and you don’t have to renew your membership. Calgary’s libraries now include a limited selection of toys for children to play with, a variety of children’s books, and a few computers with children’s games. Early learning centers and free areas for children under the age of six to learn and play are becoming increasingly popular as well. The quick-pick bags are ideal if you’re in a hurry or just want to try out some new books.
You can find age-appropriate books for newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers. Your child can enjoy reading nooks, drawing tables, and the climbing structure at the library.
Granary Road
Granary Road has a farmer’s market and an active educational park for children. The location offers special events such as Goat Yoga in the summer, Pumpkin Fest in October, and Christmas Market in December. Other fun activities for kids include trampolines, mini-golf, slides, a massive rope web for climbing, and a large Ant Farm with slides, nets, and climbers. Additional activities include the mushroom forest, Bee Hive Honeycomb, Orchard Treehouse, and many others.
Goats, sheep, llamas, donkeys, pigs, peacocks, and rabbits are examples of farm animals you can find here. It’s one of the best things to do with toddlers and older children in Calgary. Granary Road closes after the December Christmas markets and reopens in the spring.
